Biographical Note:
After serving as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy (2001-02), Stephen Cambone was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in March of 2003 as the first Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, a position he held until 2007. After earning his Ph.D. in Political Science from the Claremont Graduate School in 1982, Dr. Cambone worked in an array of government positions related to national security and defense policy, including at the National Defense University (1998-2000), the Office of the Secretary of Defense (1990-93) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (1982-86).
