Biographical Note:

Meghan O'Sullivan served as the deputy assistant to the president and deputy national security advisor for Iraq and Afghanistan from 2005 to 2007. During that time period, O'Sullivan played a significant role in running strategic policy reviews, including one in late-2006 which ultimately led to the Surge. Dr. O'Sullivan learned her D.Phil. in politics from the University of Oxford and has held many other positions related to international diplomacy and security, including senior director for strategic planning and Southwest Asia in the National Security Council (2004) and chief advisor to the presidential envoy to the Northern Ireland peace process (2013).
