Biographical Note:
David Satterfield served as coordinator for Iraq and senior advisor to the secretary of state from 2006 to 2009. Following his service as deputy chief of mission at Embassy Baghdad (2005-06). Satterfield entered the Foreign Service in 1980 and went on to hold various diplomatic assignments, including on the National Security Council Staff (1993-96), the Office of Israel and Arab-Israeli Affairs (1996-98), and as ambassador to Lebanon (1998-2001).
