Biographical Note:
Maxim Medvedkov served as the director of the Department for Trade Negotiations in the Russian Ministry of Economic Development from 2004 to 2019. In 2000, he became the chief negotiator for Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and in 2012 he was named Russia’s chief negotiator at the WTO. He also served as the deputy minister for economic development and trade from 2000 to 2004. He currently heads the Department of Trade Policy at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
