Skye Cranney
Ph.D., History
Hailing from Boise, Idaho, Skye obtained her undergraduate degree at Utah State University in History. She then received a Masters of Art degree at the University of Wyoming in History, examining women in films made during World War II and how female characters and women in Hollywood helped American women understand their roles during wartime. In the History PhD program at Southern Methodist University, Skye will focus on the intersection of gender, film, and culture and the impacts of film and popular culture during times of major historical events and eras.
