Kennedy Gifford
Ph.D. student, Department of Mathematics
Research Interests:
Kennedy used math to apply her study of physics to materials science, machine learning, infectious diseases and mathematical modeling. She hopes to expand her curiosity and her potential for making a real-world impact by studying applied and computational mathematics.
Road to the Moody School:
Kennedy grew up in Utah with her five sisters, and has long cherished a love
of family and learning. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in applied physics in 2021. In her free time, Kennedy enjoys listening to a good audiobook or podcast, going for a run and eating mac ’n’ cheese with her husband.
