This progress report marks the tenth year of documenting our annual accomplishments. While our annual report showcases only a small portion of our work and achievements throughout the year, this work wouldn't be possible without an incredible team of employees who are committed to the academic mission, building relationships across campus, and delivering a significant quantity of exceptional work for SMU.
Teams-Certified Headsets Chosen for Campus Use
As part of the Microsoft Teams Migration Project, we have been investigating new Microsoft Teams-Certified headsets for use on campus. We have selected a new headset for our community.

Ryan Clinton recently caught our eye as we noticed he completed three Microsoft Office Certifications, both as a class requirement and for professional development rather quickly. After seeing he achieved two out of three exams with perfect scores, we reached out to him to learn more about his desire to get Microsoft Certified.

SMU DataArts: Streamlining Data into a Unified Solution
At the core of SMU DataArts' operations lies a wealth of information from various sources, notably the "Cultural Data Profile," a historical repository for researchers and leaders. With their abundance of data, the SMU DataArts team recognized the need to streamline their processes and is now leveraging Snowflake, a robust data warehousing solution, to do it.
Campus Irrigation System Doubles as Research Data Source
After the weather station for the campus irrigation system was moved near the Fondren Science Building, two of SMU's Earth Sciences researchers took notice and with the help of OIT, started using it for data collection.
