Biographical Note
Andrew Rotter (Cornell BA, Class of 1975) is a Professor of History and Peace and Conflict Studies at Colgate University. He specializes in U.S. diplomatic history, recent U.S. history, and the Vietnam War, and has also taught at St. Mary’s College and Vanderbilt University. He also studies U.S.-Asia relations, the Cold War, the history of the senses, and comparative empires. Rotter has published several articles and reviews in publications such as the American Historical Review and the Journal of American History, He has been the President of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations, a Fullbright Lecturer in Japan, a Fellow at the Gandhi Peace Foundation, and a Senior Fellow for the American Council of Learned Societies.
