Year I joined the Office of Admission: 2007

Favorite thing about SMU: The school spirit and traditions for a university that has been around for only 100 years! There is really a great sense that it’s a family of current student, alums, faculty and staff. I could be walking through any airport in the country and I will always get a “Go Mustangs!” or alums will show their pony pride with their “Pony Up” hand signal.

Favorite place on campus: As a supporter of the arts, I love spending time in the Meadows Museum of Art. An oasis of Spanish Culture, it’s amazing that our students have these types of resources at their fingertips. If you are planning on visiting campus and want to check it out, keep in mind they are closed on Mondays. 

Favorite place in Dallas: Sitting behind the goal on the South Plaza of the American Airlines Center cheering on the Dallas Stars, the NHL franchise. Plus on occasion SMU students and staff get great discounts on tickets.

Favorite restaurant near campus: Half-Shells in Snider Plaza. Coming from the East Coast I love great seafood and Half-Shells is a great place to get my fix.

What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: If you have an extra half day head out to the Dallas Arboretum, this is a great oasis just 3 miles away from campus and overlooks White Rock Lake. If you catch it at the right time you might see our women’s crew team practicing!
