Does SMU have a tuition payment plan?
SMU offers several monthly payment plans. Please refer to the Bursar’s Office website for detailed information.
What methods of payment are acceptable to take care of my bill?
You may pay your bill with cash, personal check, cashier's check, money order, traveler's check, major credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) or wiring direct funds. SMU provides a secure website through which you can make credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express) and electronic check payments to your SMU accounts.
What major credit cards may I use?
SMU accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Credit card payments will be processed through Nelnet Business Solutions, Inc. If you choose this option, a service-charge fee will be added for each transaction. The service-charge fee is 2.75% and is subject to change with a 30-day notice.
When is my payment due?
Payment for tuition, general student fees, on-campus room and board, and any optional fees is due before the beginning of each term. These dates are available on the SMU Bursar website, smu.edu/bursar. You also may call the Bursar’s Office at 214-768-3417 for information.
