Favorite Thing about SMU: My favorite thing about SMU is the feeling of being in a small town when in reality, you are in the center of the big city of Dallas. Being on campus, you get the sense of how close of a community there is here. Everyone is welcoming and always willing to help.

Favorite place on campus: My favorite place on campus has to be Dallas Hall and especially the views outside of the front doors. Dallas Hall is majestic on the inside and takes you back in time because of the historical significance of this building. I imagine the first students of SMU walking to their classes, and it is such a neat feeling. Also, when standing outside the front doors, you get the best view of the campus and the city of Dallas.

Favorite place in Dallas: My favorite place in Dallas is White Rock Lake. It is a great place to be outdoors and enjoy some nature while living in the rush of the city. I like to go kayaking and take long walks there to disconnect and get some nice exercise for the week.

Favorite restaurant near campus: My favorite restaurant near campus is Velvet taco! I like that they have fusion tacos that allow you to try something new. Of course, you have to try the tater tots too!

What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: As a Dallas native, there is so much I can recommend! Dallas has some unique neighborhoods like Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts to explore. Also, there are so many great places to eat. Check out the Trinity Groves area for a diverse lineup of restaurants. I am also a huge Dallas sports fan; if you have the time, go to a Mavs game or Texas Rangers game.
