Boren Scholarship

  • Offers critical language training in countries outside of Western and Central Europe

  • Open to all students seeking to pursue a public-service career

Churchill Scholarship

  • Funds a one-year master's program in STEM fields at the University of Cambridge

  • Seniors majoring in STEM fields are encouraged to apply

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

  • Study, research, or teach English in 140+ countries through the U.S. Department of State's premier international educational exchange program

  • Seniors and alumni of all majors should consider applying

Gaither Junior Fellows

  • Work at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as a researcher

  • Open to seniors of all majors interested in public policy

Gates Cambridge

  • Funds a postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge

  • Open to seniors and recent alumni of all majors with leadership potential and a commitment to improving the lives of others

Gilman Scholarship

  • Provides study abroad funding for undergraduate students

  • Pell Grant recipients of any major and any undergraduate year are eligible to apply

Goldwater Scholarship

  • Awards $7500 for up to two years to undergraduate STEM researchers

  • STEM majors engaged in undergraduate research should apply in their sophomore and juniors years 

Knight-Hennessy Scholarship

  • Funds three years of postgraduate study at Stanford University (including law and medical school)

  • Seniors and recent alumni of all majors with demonstrated leadership and civic engagement are encouraged to apply

Marshall Scholarship

  •  Supports one or two years of master's-level study at any university in the United Kingdom

  •  Open to seniors and recent alumni with demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to furthering US-UK relations in their field

Mitchell Scholarship

  • Provides tuition, housing, travel, and living expenses for one year of post-graduate study in Ireland

  • Seniors of all majors are eligible to apply

Pickering Fellowship

  • Funds a master's program and provides two internships with the U.S. Department of State

  • Seniors planning for careers in the foreign service should apply for this award

Rangel Fellowship

  • Funds a master's program and provides two internships with the U.S. Department of State

  • Seniors planning for careers in the foreign service should apply for this award

Rhodes Scholarship

  • Supports up to three years of postgraduate study at the University of Oxford

  • Seniors and alumni under the age of 24 are eligible to apply

Schwarzman Scholars

  • Funds a year of postgraduate study of Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing alongside immersive, out-of-the-classroom professional experiences

  • Seniors and alumni with an interest in China should consider applying 

State Department Internship

  • Offers a paid internship in U.S. consulates and embassies through the world

  • Juniors and seniors with an interest in public service are eligible to apply

Truman Scholarship

  • Provides $30,000 for a master's program in preparation for a public-service career

  • Juniors with a commitment to public service should apply for this award

Udall Undergraduate Scholarship

  • Awards up to $7000 to students planning a career related to the environment or Native American affairs

  • Second-years and juniors are encouraged to apply

Campus Nomination Process

Some scholarships and fellowships do not permit individual submissions from applicants.  For these awards, the Office of National Undergraduate Fellowships (ONUF) conducts an internal evaluation of applications at least one month ahead of the national award deadline to determine which will receive an official nomination.  Applicants should submit all of their materials (including letters of recommendation) to ONUF by the campus deadline.
