Asana Work Management

Stay focused on goals, projects, and daily tasks.

Asana is a project/task management and collaboration platform that is available for a fee to SMU departments upon request. This cloud-based system provides powerful tools to manage projects, coordinate team resources, share files and information, and more. From simply managing daily tasks to the largest and most complex projects, Asana can make things easier.

Get Started

Licensing

Currently, SMU has a 400 seat license agreement with Asana for the Starter level. Some departments use the Advanced level, though this is discouraged without first reaching out to OIT.

Obtaining an Account

To sign up for Asana, click the Sign In button at the top of this page. Then, click the Sign Up button on the page that appears. When entering your e-mail address, you must enter it using @smu.edu in order to be added to the SMU account. Once your account is created, you will then be prompted to create a team and can begin using the service.

Getting Support

SMU offers limited support for Asana, as it is a cloud-based service. Any issues with functionality or password issues are dealt with by Asana Support. They are available at asana.com/support.
