Division Projects

The Division of Journalism provides daily news content for SMU-TV, a cable television station broadcast on campus and in the Park Cities area of Dallas. The Daily Update is a student-produced broadcast news program that features news from the SMU campus as well as the day’s top stories from around the nation and world. SMU-TV also has a weekly sports program, Press Pass, a weekly Spanish-language program, Punto, and a weekly program produced by Fashion Media students, The SMU Look. In addition, special programs are frequently done on major news events or special topics such as elections. The Division of Journalism works with Student Media Inc. to produce an online news website, SMUDailyCampus.com, which serves as a convergent online site for productions of SMU-TV and the content of the student newspaper, SMU Campus Weekly.
