Journalism in Dallas
Dallas: Big city, big news, big opportunities.
Dallas is home to numerous Fortune 500 companies, pro sports teams, the largest arts district in the nation and the eighth largest international airport in the world. There are always stories to uncover, plumb, package and distribute that can make an impact locally, nationally or globally.
Opportunities for Meadows students to interact with journalism professionals in this top-five media market are plentiful. Every semester, four top students are offered paid internships with The Dallas Morning News; additional internships with organizations such as the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks, Burson-Marsteller, and other broadcast, print, digital, magazine and government organizations are made available to ambitious and motivated students.

Selected courses offer hands-on reporting experience in the city; students often contribute stories to media outlets such as the online Dallas South News site in a mutually beneficial relationship that provides needed content for media providers and bylines for career-bound students.
The Journalism Division enjoys a significant relationship with Dallas-based The Belo Foundation, A. H. Belo Corporation and Belo Corp.
