Biography

Prasanna Rangarajan currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He directs the activities of the Photonics Architecture Lab (PAL) within the Lyle School of Engineering. His research interests focus on the interplay between Physical Optics, Signal Processing, Computer Vision, and the unique insights afforded by synergistic activities spanning these disciplines. His research group specializes in manipulating light and harnessing its power using machine intelligence, to build EO/IR systems with unique capabilities. A Dallas startup Mustang Optics LLC established with support from DARPA is seeking to transition technology being developed in PAL for use in defense and commercial markets.
