Son of Ithaca is a stylized 3d action platform game in the vein of _Maximo_ and _Devil May Cry_ built on _Half-life 2_ technology. Simple, fast melee action and a unique attack chaining system bring something to the table for both button-mashing novices and gaming masters alike. Designed specially for use with an Xbox 360 controller, Son of Ithaca brings console-style action to the PC.
Based off of the story of Homerís _Odyssey_, _Son of Ithaca_ is set on the ancient Greek island of Ithaca. Odysseus, hero of Greece, was called to serve in the Trojan War, leaving behind his son Telemachus. Now an adult, Telemachus is charged by Mentor, the goddess Athena in disguise, to go forth and rescue his father from the clutches of Poseidon. To this end, Telemachus receives the Athena bracelet, a magical device that can instantly summon and dismiss his fatherís sword, shield, and bow.
By chaining different combinations of horizontal, vertical, and bow attacks, Telemachus can provide up to sixteen different attacks including five powerful finishing moves. Players can outmaneuver or overpower the minions of Poseidon, including the vicious and deadly Mermen, the giant brutish Cyclops, and eventually the god of the seas himself.
