Re:bound is a third person action-adventure game for PC and PS4 where players take on the role of Avery, a spunky space explorer that has crash landed on an eerie alien planet and must find a way off. Players make use of Avery’s robotic blade, by throwing it to interact with the environment and progress through the game. Players can mark targets and bounce the blade off them to get the drop on enemies and hit far off objects.
Upon reentry, her rescue satellite lost power, so Avery has to seek solar cells that will power the satellite back up and allow her to call for help. Aided by her trusty blade, Avery is able to cross treacherous platforms, unlock mysteries, and combat cute but sinister defenses left behind by the lost ancient race that used to inhabit the planet.
Explore three unique and strange locations and collect solar cells lost in the crash to power the signal beacon and make your way off the desert planet. Battle against four unique enemies as players venture into overgrown ruins that guard an ancient secret and a lost civilization that the stones themselves have forgotten.
This game rose out of an idea to pay tribute to the games we played while growing up, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and The Legend of Zelda. It was made by a group of 17 game dev students over a period of six months working 21 hours each week.
