Professor Xia came to the World Languages and Literures Department at SMU from Princeton University where she taught for six years. Recent publications include: All Things Considered: Advanced Reader of Modern Chinese, Princeton University Press, 2000, and Short Stories in Ming Dynasty, Hong Kong University Press, 2007.
