Managerial Options During Probation:
Human Resources must approve any extension of the probationary period before the 90th day of employment. If granted, the manager is responsible for informing the employee in person about the extension.
Should performance fall below standards, employment can be terminated without the Corrective Action Process as long as the probationary extension date has not passed. If this is the case, the manager must contact Human Resources immediately; otherwise, any requests for additional extensions or terminations could be compromised.
