Karla Hernandez

Lyle School of Engineering

Karla Hernandez is a native Texan, hailing from southside Fort Worth. She holds a B.A. in history from The University of Texas at Arlington and a M.A. in higher educational leadership from Tarleton State University. After beginning her professional career at Tarrant County College as a student development assistant in the Transfer Center, she propelled through the ranks at UT Arlington Undergraduate Admissions Office before landing at SMU Lyle School of Engineering. Her dedication to education and commitment to serve is making an impact within the Lyle School of Engineering. She is excited to meet with a variety of students and their family and, hopefully, inspire them to make SMU their second home.
