Greetings from the Hilltop! Dallas Hall, the University’s first building, is the centerpiece of the Main Quad and the symbol of SMU’s academic and intellectual life. The building is named for the citizens of Dallas, who joined church officials in 1911 to establish a new university. Opened in 1915, Dallas Hall now houses classrooms, meeting rooms and faculty offices for Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences.

Latino Alumni Scholarship Fund In fall 2010, SMU enrolled 10,938 students from every state in the nation and nearly 90 other countries. Nearly 76 percent of first-year students receive some form of financial aid, ranging from need-based grants to merit-based scholarships.

Latino Alumni Scholarship Fund

The Latino Alumni Scholarship Fund supports students in their pursuit of an SMU degree. Awarded to students with financial needs, the scholarship is intended to increase retention and graduation rates of SMU Latino students.
