About

Dr. Chandler is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), and Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

She began her career as an investigator for Child Protective Services, and quickly realized her desire to make a more positive impact on the lives of children and families. Dr. Chandler earned her master’s degree in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University and became a licensed professional counselor. After earning her graduate degree, she began co-teaching and discovered her passion for counselor education. This led her to obtain a PhD in Counselor Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Her dissertation research focused on the perceived self-efficacy of licensed counselors in the provision of substance abuse counseling.

Over the last twenty-three years, Dr. Chandler has provided counseling in residential drug treatment facilities, educational institutions, and client homes. She has managed a clinic for one of the largest mental health providers in DFW. There she supervised over thirty clinical staff members across three programs.

Dr. Chandler currently maintains a private practice where she enjoys working with adults, adolescents, and children. She is clinically experienced in the treatment of substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, women’s issues, trauma, stress management, and infertility challenges.

Dr. Chandler has held a long-standing mentoring and teaching career. She has taught within undergraduate and graduate counseling programs, both online and in person. Dr. Chandler has provided supervision for counselors-in-training for over a decade. She is dedicated to teaching and mentoring counselors-in-training.
