About

Dr. Peña is the owner and founder of Milestone Family Counseling in Frisco, Texas. She has worked in private practice for 13 years serving the needs of individuals, couples and families. Dr. Peña has also worked in the nonprofit sector serving victims of domestic abuse, trafficking, immigrants, refugees, and survivors of torture. She has led various groups to assist the needs of the community including support for individuals struggling with self-harm, gender identity, depression and abuse. 

Dr. Peña practices therapy utilizing a Gestalt therapeutic approach and is currently working on obtaining certification with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. She is a national certified counselor and licensed professional counselor supervisor. 

Dr Peña has been a counselor educator since 2019 and has served in both full time and adjunct roles. She has taught many courses within the field of counselor education including Pre-Practicum, Practicum, Internship, Counseling Children and Adolescents, Play Therapy, Treatment Planning for Counselors, Psychological Appraisal of the Individual, Counseling for Wellness, Counseling the Aging Population, and Group Counseling.
