What is QEP?

The Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is an integral component of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on College's reaffirmation of the accreditation process and is derived from our ongoing comprehensive planning and evaluation processes.

It reflects and affirms SMU's commitment to enhancing overall institutional quality and effectiveness by focusing on an issue that the institution considers important to improving student learning outcomes and student success. At SMU, our QEP branded as SMU in Four, is a five-year initiative that began in 2020.

Learn more about our commitment to improving the undergraduate learning environment to improve undergraduate student success.
