Faith and Business Luncheons
Perkins’ mission to prepare women and men for faithful leadership in Christian ministry extends not only to students and ministry professionals but also to laypersons and the larger community. In support of this mission, our Faith and Business Luncheons are held three times a year and feature guests for critical reflection on the intersection of public life and personal faith.
We are pleased to kick off the 2024-25 season with Mr. Will Evans, award-winning publisher, writer, translator, bookstore owner, and literary arts advocate. Mr. Evans founded Deep Vellum, a nonprofit publishing house and bookstore, dedicated to publishing the works by underrepresented writers and cultivating a lifelong love of reading through creative programming and outspoken advocacy for the literary arts. He received BA degrees in History and Russian Literature from Emory University and an MA in Russian Culture from Duke University. Most recently, Mr. Evans received a high honor from the French government, a knighthood called the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, in recognition for the more than 200 French books form 13 countries that Deep Vellum has translated into English. A native of Wilmington, North Carolina, he lives in East Dallas with his wife and two children.
We hope you can join us for our first Faith and Business Luncheon speaker series this year. This event is free with thanks to a generous donor, but reservations are required.
