Baugh Scholarship Program

The Baugh Scholarship Program awards qualified students up to full-tuition scholarships that also cover required fees and, in some cases, provides a small living stipend.

Doctor of Ministry graduationMade possible through the generous support of the Eula Mae and John Baugh Foundation, the Baugh Scholarship program provides scholarships across all degree programs for qualified students who self-identify as Baptist, are committed to Baptist principles, and seek to shape Baptist life moving forward.

Eligibility

To be considered as a Baugh Scholar, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Acceptance to Perkins degree program
  • Evidence of academic promise/achievement such as a 3.0 GPA in undergraduate work or commensurate professional experience
  • Submission of two short essays, each in 750 words or fewer addressing the following prompts
  1. Articulate your Baptist identity to date.
  2. Describe how you imagine shaping Baptist life in the future.
Expectations

As students, Baugh Scholars are expected to engage with and contribute to Baptist life and remain in good academic standing during their time at Perkins by

  • Maintaining a 3.0 GPA or better
  • Being an active member of a Baptist congregation
  • Engaging with a Baptist denominational conference
  • Participating in activities of the Baptist House of Studies
  • Taking one or both Baptist courses, ideally completing the Baptist Studies Concentration
  • Fulfilling the internship requirement at a Baptist congregation or ministry
