Due to continuing power outages in various locations, SMU is cancelling evening classes beginning at 6 p.m. or later on the main campus, except for classes at Dedman School of Law.
SMU expects to have power restored to most main campus buildings this evening. The buildings must be brought online in stages, and the University's first priority is restoring power to student residential housing. Outside electricians have been brought in to assist with this process.
SMU Dining will serve dinner as scheduled in Umphrey Lee and Arnold Dining, both of which have power.
SMU apologizes for the inconvenience this has caused. Staff members are working as quickly as possible to restore power to every building. The University will provide more information as it becomes available.
