Basketball Seasons Start Friday at Moody Coliseum

The SMU Men's and Women's Basketball teams open their seasons Friday, Nov. 11, in Moody Coliseum.

The Women's game against Texas State starts at 11:30 a.m., as first-year head coach Travis Mays begins his tenure. The game also will feature a Physics of Basketball presentation and physics fair at halftime, led by SMU physics professor Dr. Fred Olness. And the Mustangs welcome 2,000 elementary and middle school students from the Dallas area to the game. Read more. See the schedule.

The Men open their 2016-17 season by hosting Gardner-Webb at 7 p.m. This is the first of four games that are part of the 2K Classic benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. Men's head coach Tim Jankovich takes over after serving four seasons as associate head coach. Read more. See the schedule.
