Meadows Alum Rob Chilton ’06 Named in Yamaha’s “40 Under 40”
Rob Chilton (B.M. ’06) was recently recognized in Yamaha’s 2023 “40 Under 40” for Excellence in Music Education.
Meadows alum and music educator Rob Chilton (B.M. ’06) was recently named one of Yamaha’s 40 Under 40 for Excellence in Music Education. Yamaha launched the “40 Under 40” music education advocacy program in 2021 to celebrate and recognize outstanding music educators who are making a difference by growing and strengthening their music programs.
Chilton demonstrated his determination through the work he did during and after the pandemic, by creating a video system to teach his students music virtually. This system, which started with a basic camera and dry erase board, grew into a developed video series that Chilton named RC Theory. Yamaha reports that the RC Theory series is now used in 85 schools across 10 states and, thanks to Chilton, is helping make music education easily accessible and fun for teachers and their students.
