Lecturer Janice Lindstrom Explains the Healing Power of Music to NPR

Meadows music therapy lecturer, Dr. Janice Lindstrom, was recently featured in an NPR article about whether music can be used to heal America’s tense political divide. The article positions Dr. Lindstrom, who has been a board-certified music therapist for over 25 years, as an expert on the subject and she explains the neurological responses that music provides.

 

Dr. Lindstrom expanded on the subject saying, “Music has evolved to increase our social cohesion in human beings to help us work together and form deep bonds with one another.” Whether or not music can help heal the deep divide are nation is experiencing is further explored throughout the article along with Lindstrom’s insights.
