The 2013 Brown Bag Dance Series in GIFs
Twice-a-year the students choreograph these mesmerizing performances
The scene at the student-run Brown Bag Dance series is always electric. Thanks to the performances being held over lunch, there’s the smell of fresh food in the fall air, and a rush of joy from getting out from behind the desk. When the students of the Division of Dance sync up—meeting hands and bodies intertwining—it’s an inspiring sight. The works range from jazz to hip-hop (music was represented across all genres, including James Blake, Kanye West and The xx).
Before this season’s series opened with “If I Were Young,” with music by Beirut and choreography by Hattie Haggard, our own Liz Meyer was on hand to capture some video—which we’ve whittled down into some handy, Internet-ready GIFs. Take a look, and see the links below for more on the upcoming year at Meadows.
