Eric Straw

Eric Straw is a senior software engineer and full stack developer at CVENT, as well as an adjunct instructor of computer science at SMU. He earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics from SMU and his master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.

Straw is deeply committed to helping others learn and grow, which is why he is passionate about teaching entry-level computer science courses. He loves to see a student’s interest in computer science grow into a life-long passion.

When he's not working or teaching, Straw enjoys a variety of hobbies and interests. He is an avid rock climber and enjoys spending time exploring new climbing routes or climbing at his local gym.
