Tom Jackson

Tom Jackson practiced in the areas of antitrust law, business litigation, securities litigation, and intellectual property litigation at Jones Day.  He was either the lead lawyer or had a significant role in ten trials or arbitrations tried to completion. Mr. Jackson remains active in a number of pro-bono matters involving immigration, social security, and Hague Convention issues.

While at Jones Day, Mr. Jackson advised clients on claims of monopolization, distribution practices, takeovers, mergers, Section 10(b) litigation, derivative actions, intellectual property disputes, and a variety of governmental investigations.  He was also involved in a number of commercial disputes dealing with allegations of breach of contract, fraud, director and officer liability, and prudency issues involving the activities of regulated entities.

For the last 25 years, Mr. Jackson has been actively involved in lawyer training:

• Taught litigation skills programs at Jones Day and elsewhere.  These programs, usually four to five a year, have focused on lawyer skills at depositions, motion arguments, and trials.
• Taught at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) national trial program, at the Emory University trial program, and at the NITA Pittsburgh trial program.
• Taught over 15 litigation skills programs through Celesq and West Legal Education.
• Taught Deposition course at SMU Dedman School of Law since 2017.
