Professor Anderson, a former notes and comments editor of the Journal of Air Law and Commerce, has served at SMU Dedman School of Law as executive director of the criminal justice program and as assistant dean and associate dean.  He teaches in the areas of contracts, commercial law, and damages. He served for many years as the adviser for the SMU Law Review and for the moot court program. He is the author of numerous law journal articles, a two-volume treatise entitled DAMAGES UNDER THE UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE (2d ed. 2003), and co-author of Anderson, Bartlett & East TEXAS UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE ANNOTATED (2002).  He is also co-author of the three volumes of the TEXAS LITIGATION GUIDE dealing with commercial litigation. Professor Anderson is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the American Law Institute and a life fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. From 1990-2000 he was a commentator for the ABA Task Force of advisors to the UCC Article 2 Drafting Committee and a member of the ALI Consultative Group for the UCC Article 2 Drafting Committee.

Professor Anderson's  article, "The Wolf at the Campfire: Understanding Confidential Relationships," won the Texas Bar Foundation's award for the outstanding law review article for 2000.
