Visiting Campus
We believe that the best way to experience SMU is to visit our beautiful campus. You are welcome to take a guided tour, observe a live first-year law school class, or schedule an appointment with a member of the admissions staff. If you are unable to attend the scheduled Admitted Student Day, please contact Brooke Werra, Assistant Director to arrange an individual campus visit.

The SMU bookstore is located at 3060 Mockingbird Lane, on the southeast corner of campus. The SMU bookstore offers a wide selection of products and services, including the ability to purchase textbooks online and to sell used textbooks. Remember that the SMU bookstore will price match https://www.barnesandnoble.com/ and https://www.amazon.com/ as long as the textbook on Amazon is sold and fulfilled by Amazon. If you find a lower price through one of those two suppliers, please call or visit the bookstore so they can verify the lower price.

Students have access to one of the premier fitness facilities in Dallas at the Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports. The facility is designed for recreational sports, wellness, and intramural activities. Recreational facilities include a state-of-the-art weight room; a fitness facility featuring individual flat screen televisions; racquetball, basketball, badminton, volleyball and sand volleyball courts; exercise studios; indoor soccer area; 25 meter indoor pool; outdoor fountain pool; indoor jogging track; and climbing center with rock-climbing wall. A snack bar, a full-service Starbucks, and a computer center are also located inside the Dedman Center.
The University's health facilities are located in the Dr. Bob Smith Health Center at SMU. This convenient, economical medical clinic offers outpatient medical services, specialty clinics, pharmacy, lab/X-ray facilities, and dental services. The Health Center is accredited by the Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. Student insurance is also available.
The Hughes-Trigg Student Center has restaurants, an ATM, a post office, a market, and other conveniences.
Information about student ID cards and parking on campus is available through the Parking and ID Card Services Office.
All students with disabilities - including physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and others - are served by Disability Accommodations and Success Strategies. DASS helps students utilize resources they may need and helps them work with professors and staff in obtaining appropriate and reasonable accommodations. Admitted students with disabilities should contact DASS as soon as possible to get acquainted and file the necessary documentation.
The SMU Preschool and Child Care Center is a fully-licensed center open throughout the year to students, faculty, and staff. Children ages one month through five years are accepted, subject to space availability. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fees are adjusted to the age of the child. SMU offers a comprehensive array of psychological services, including counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, outreach, and consultation. SMU Counseling Services and SMU Psychiatric Services take a proactive position to facilitate healthy student development and maintain and enhance students' psychological and emotional well-being.
Meal plans are available through SMU Dining Services.
Office of Career Services (OCS)
The Office of Career Services is designed to aid you in your job search throughout law school. From October of your first year, you will be assigned an individual counselor who will be your resource for advice on résumé drafting, interviewing, and much more. OCS also provides students with a broad array of substantive programs discussing different practice areas, skill-building, and much more. OCS also brings legal employers on campus throughout the year and during our specific on-campus interviewing (OCI) periods to speak with students about clerkships.
George W. Bush Presidential Center
