Cedar Roach

Cedar is from Frisco, Texas. She is majoring in Corporate Communications & Public Affairs with minors in Human Rights and Public Policy and International Affairs through the Tower Scholars Program. At SMU, Cedar is a McNair Scholar, Pre-Law Scholar, and Hilltop Scholar. In addition, Cedar is involved at SMU as a Hilltop Scholar Advisory Board member. Off-campus, Cedar works as the editor-in-chief of an online women’s political magazine, coach’s speech and debate to high school students, and interns with a Dallas-based education non-profit to improve academic success in underserved communities. As a first-generation college student, Cedar is passionate about education policy, and she is particularly interested in the role that parental involvement has in a student’s academic success. After graduation, she hopes to pursue her policy interests further through law school.
