Dr. Kamata’s primary research interest is psychometrics and educational and psychological measurement, focusing on development and implementation of item-level test data analysis methodology through various modeling framework, including item response theory, multilevel modeling, and structural equation modeling. He is also interested in investigating methodological problems in quantitative research methods. Dr. Kamata received the Article of the Year award in 2013 for the paper entitled “Modeling Nonlinear Growth with Three Data Points: Illustration with Benchmarking Data” by a journalAssessment for Effective Intervention.
Dr. Kamata enjoys traveling and exploring eateries while traveling. He also enjoys roasting coffee beans.
