Ph.D., University of Texas at DallasDr. Sara Johnson is a lecturer in the Political Science Department. She received her Ph.D. in Public Policy and Political Economy from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2022. Prior to SMU, she taught as a Visiting Assistant Professor at University of Texas at Dallas. Her research interests include political polarization, rural policy issues, state and local politics, and urban-rural interface issues. Recent publications include a paper analyzing public opinion regarding high-speed rail, and a forthcoming book in which she and her co-authors are examining the politics of cultural conflicts in the United States.
