Ph.D., Stanford UniversityAvshalom Schwartz received his Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University in 2022. He studies political theory and ancient and early modern political thought, focusing on the role of imagination in politics and the history of ideas. His current book project, The Invention of Imagination, offers a new account of the historical origins of imagination in classical antiquity and examines the role of imagination in ancient political thought and practice. His work has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, History of Political Thought, and History of European Ideas, among others.
