Thomas is from Webster, New Hampshire. His interest of study is modern United States diplomatic history, which led to his master’s thesis, “Fostering a Feeling of Betrayal: United States Foreign Policy and the 1956 Hungarian Revolution”. His current research revolves around Cold War energy empires and the role President Ronald Reagan’s 1981 and 1982 economic sanctions played in ending those empires.
