About
Dr. Nathan Balke's research areas are in macroeconomics and applied time series analysis. Much of his current research examines linkage between financial markets, credit frictions and macroeconomic activity. He is also interested in the determinants of oil price movements and their effect on economic activity.
Dr. Balke is currently Interim Dean of Dedman College. He has also served as Economics Department Chairman from 2000-2006 and 2010-2013 and was a Research Associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas from 1994-2023.
