- The SMU Geothermal Lab put together a presentation of classroom activities. Finding Geothermal Energy in Texas includes maps, graphs, diagrams, data tables and explanatory text.
- The Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy has an education section on its website including K-12 Lesson Plans and Activities. You can search for resources by topic and grade level. A renewable energy coloring and activity book are available.
- The book Energy for Keeps is a great guide to the basics of renewable energy for grades 6 – 12. Chapter 3 is specifically on Geothermal Energy.
- The National Geothermal Education Office website includes a video, slide show, maps and classroom materials including a Geothermal Energy Uses Poster.
- Horizon Educational offers an energy curriculum including chapters on fuel cells, solar energy and wind energy. Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies offers science education kits.
- The SMU Geothermal Lab has a Texas Geothermal Fun Facts page aimed at students and the general public.
- The US Department of Energy has a Texas Geothermal Fact Sheet discussing the potential for development of geothermal energy.
- The 2008 Texas Renewable Energy Resource Assessment includes a chapter on Geothermal Energy in Texas. Other chapters include solar, wind and biomass.
- The Geothermal Chapter from the 1995 Texas Renewable Energy Resource Assessment prepared by Virtus Energy Research Associates is available for download as an 18mb pdf. Right click on title to "Save Target As" rather than open, for faster download.
- In 2004 the National Renewable Energy Laboratory produced a Geothermal Module for Middle School students that includes 5 hands-on projects.
- The National Geothermal Day website has information for kids, schools and teens.
- The Critical Zone Observatories has a classroom activity sheet on the Valles Caldera National Preserve in New Mexico.
- The website Student Energy has information on all form of energy, including geothermal. They also have an Energy Systems Map.
