Alternative Breaks is an immersive week of hands-on service, leadership building, and relationship building supplemented with education and reflection. Each trip focuses on a particular social issue, and immersion in that issue begins long before the trip itself. Students educate themselves and each other, leading to hands-on work with relevant organizations.
Orientation Leaders play a vital role in welcoming new Mustangs to the Hilltop. Through this transformative experience, they develop leadership skills, foster a sense of community, and enhance their event planning expertise by organizing and executing large-scale programs for Stampede.
The Hegi Family Career Development Center hosts two unique internship programs for undergraduate students, the Engage Dallas Internship program and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Internship program. The programs provide students from diverse backgrounds with hands-on experience with a local DFW area organization offered by private companies and non-profit organizations.
The Wellbeing Student Education Team (WESTies) are a diverse and equipped group of undergraduate students charged with empowering their peers to make informed decisions regarding their wellbeing. They promote wellbeing in all aspects including mental health, nutrition, relationship health, substance use education, among others.
