Community Members
Members of the greater community who are not SMU students, faculty or staff are welcome to use our center’s services.
We offer fee-based testing services to local distance learners attending other institutions and to professionals seeking certification and licensure. Testing is available by appointment on weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Thanks for your interest in community testing services at SMU. The University Testing Center (UTC)will be piloting fee-based academic and professional testing services to non-SMU students during fall 2024. Check back for updates.
Visit the UTC Portal to schedule your test, pay the proctoring fee and accept our guidelines for test proctoring. Appointments must be made at least 7 business days prior to your desired testing date.
Materials and proctoring instructions for both paper-based and computer-based tests can be submitted to universitytestingcenter@smu.edu Materials must be received no later than 2 business days prior to your testing appointment.
We are located in the basement of Clements Hall at 3100 Dyer Street next to the Hughes-Trigg Student Center. Visit our website for campus maps and visitor parking information.
SMU students must present their current SMU ID. Non-SMU students must present a current, government-issued photo ID. Bring authorized materials allowed for use during your test, as well as a pre-paid USPS or courier envelope (UPS, FedEx) if your test cannot be returned electronically.
