New Annual Awards Announced for Journalism Students
Gift from Kiran Pendri supports top Journalism and Fashion Media graduates
Kiran Reddy Pendri, a pharmaceuticals manufacturer from Cambridge, Massachusetts, has provided two awards for students in the Division of Journalism at the Meadows School of the Arts: (1) The Pendri Family Award in Journalism and (2) The Pendri Family Award in Fashion Media.
These awards, which include cash prizes, will be given annually to the top graduating seniors in the Journalism and Fashion Media majors, as determined by the faculty.
“The fourth estate, to retain its central place in civic life, always needs honest and talented new voices,” said Pendri. “SMU’s work in training a new generation of news professionals is vital to the health of our nation. As a Dallas native, I am very pleased to annually honor the top students this program produces.”
