the most of
college internships

The biggest takeaway was seeing how art can create a bridge between the museum and the community. Hosting Open Studio taught me how valuable it is to provide a space where anyone can walk in and express themselves through art. Facilitating these sessions, along with preparing my gallery talk for College Night, helped me learn how to engage people in ways that foster both creativity and understanding of the art in the museum.

This was so meaningful for me and affirmed that I was on the right educational path as a music education major. I loved my experience so much that I decided to add a minor in international studies. Whether I end up pursuing a master’s in choral conducting, pursue a doctorate in education, or jump straight into the career field, Romania taught me that there is so much more that the wonderful world of teaching has to offer.

Additionally, I engaged in Lunch and Learn sessions that emphasized the importance of community engagement, particularly within sports-based organizations, and explored strategies for integrating these insights into public health initiatives.

This competition has given me a lot of experience leading an interdisciplinary team on a large-scale project. I feel this experience will help me to better understand how to apply the theory in classes to real world problems and teach others how to work together on these projects. I feel this experience will help me find a job in the engineering world after I graduate, as well as become a better problem solver.

The internship provided valuable hands-on experience in marketing, specifically within a nonprofit setting. It also allowed me to combine my interest in marketing with my interest in international relations and diplomacy. These skills will be essential as I want to pursue a career in international relations and marketing.

I have a much better understanding of sports marketing, and I met a ton of other people who also want to work in sports. Going to France gave me two once-in-a-lifetime opportunities of going to Wimbledon and the Olympics, so I could see how different cultures and people from different countries react to sports.
