In 1966, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave a speech in SMU’s McFarlin Auditorium to a standing-room-only crowd. In 2023, our campus unveiled a historical marker to commemorate the occasion. Every year, SMU honors the legacy and memory of Dr. King on campus and within the greater community.
