Sarah Cartwright, Adjunct Faculty
Sarah Cartwright is an adjunct faculty member for UNIV 1210 and is a learning skills specialist within Student Academic Success Programs at SMU. She earned her M.Ed. in higher education from SMU, and her B.A. in psychology with a minor in family and consumer sciences from Marshall University. Sarah teaches both in-person and online sections of UNIV 1210, and has taught specialized sections for transfer students.
Within her full-time work, Sarah works with undergraduate students to support their academic success. Working with students from various groups and backgrounds, she enjoys facilitating academic counseling, workshops, and more to help students navigate how to implement and strengthen skills. She also meets with students on a recurring basis to assist with effective goal-setting, progress and accountability.
Before joining SMU, Sarah loved working in childcare and the K-12 sector but now also loves supporting college students. Sarah lives in a small town east of Dallas, but, with her Appalachian roots, still calls the mountains of West Virginia her true home. She enjoys going on walks with loved ones, traveling and experiencing new things, and is passionate about her faith, family and food.
