Perkins School of Theology is hosting two events—one in Houston on Dec. 5 and another in Dallas on Dec. 7—for prospective students to meet faculty, engage with current students, and explore the varieties of degree programs offered to those who are called to serve in Christian ministry or in other venues.
The exploration event sponsored by the Houston-Galveston Extension Program will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, located at 5501 Main Street in Houston. Prospective students will meet Dean Craig C. Hill, Houston-Galveston Program Director Dr. Hugo Magallanes, Associate Director for Enrollment Management Dr. Margot Perez-Greene, and Texas Annual Conference Bishop Scott Jones. Additional Perkins faculty, along with admissions-recruitment staff, will also be on hand to answer questions, discuss financial aid, and the Houston-Galveston Extension Program, which allows students from the region to take Perkins courses in Houston and Galveston.
The Dallas “Inside Perkins” event will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Perkins School of Theology on the SMU campus (5915 Bishop Boulevard, Dallas, 75275). Participants will meet Dean Craig C. Hill and Perkins faculty, enjoy community lunch with current students, and have the option of attending the 2017 Perkins Advent Worship Service—a highlight of the school year.
“Inside Perkins is a unique opportunity for potential students to engage one-on-one with our faculty and students, to experience our vibrant community and campus first-hand, and to consider Perkins as next step in their journey of deeper understanding of faith and ministry,” said Dr. Margot Perez-Greene, Associate Dean for Enrollment Management at Perkins School of Theology.
“The programs and offerings we offer at Perkins certainly will prepare individuals for service within a wide range of positions in both traditional and non-traditional ministries. Perkins students are called to serve and empowered to lead."
Both events are free and open to interested persons (RSVP requested). Register for the Dallas Inside Perkins event here. RSVP for the Houston-Galveston Open House and Inside Perkins event here.
